Mindfulness means paying attention intentionally and not evaluatively to a particular phenomenon that occurs in the “here and now”. This attitude is cultivated by deliberately directing our attention to things we don't normally focus on and stopping the “autopilot”.
Anxiety, stress, sleep problems, eating disorders, somatic manifestations, impulsivity or difficulty in experiencing pleasurable moments are some of the targets of this practice well supported by research.
During 8 weekly group sessions, Mindful strategies and attitudes are learned to be used in your daily life, through formal and informal practices following the international intervention protocol of Mindfulness Based Cognive Therapy (MBCT).
Goals 1) See thoughts as thoughts rather than facts.
2) Waking up from autopilot (behavioral conditioning patterns) by learning to focus on the present moment.
3) Label dysfunctional thought types that affect mood (observe, label and break the chain of negative thoughts)
4) The recognition of negative thoughts at the moment they happen allows them to be redirected, leaving behin the usual path of elaboration, self-criticism, confusion and escape.
5) Along with thoughts, work with breathing as an anchor to the here and now, body and emotions since they are directly related to mood and physiological emotional reactions, having a causal relationship in preventing or limiting a crisis or automatic cognitive activity.
Duration The program will be carried out in 8 sessions, the group meets weekly for 2h30m sessions.
